Does that mean an abundance of horniness?
Ha! Good guess - but it’s a portmanteau of cornucopia (the horn of plenty) and copious (large amount, pretty sure derived from previous word anyway)
Double mail day;
Garbology Instrumentals, and…
Limited run of The Recycling Bin (sitting behind a BBOX60 with MCR Horseman B)
honestly your bbox x mcr horseman still haunts me. if only these caps had more gmk-ish font but retained that warm brown alphas x dark brown mods…
it would really serve topre mx conversions in stock beige housings.
maybe thought about it strongly or something, idk
Yes, copia is indeed the Latin for plenty. I was attempting to riff a pun off your witty portmanteau. You "pun"ctured the pun by explaining the joke, I think. Guess I need to post kitten gifs instead?
Hey there, how are you liking the Domo? Worth the money?
I love that Aesop releases instrumentals. They’re some of my favorite for background focus music.
It’s been great! While it’s not as fast as cracking switches open with the Gateron switch opener, it’s been amazing for popping open switches to look at them.
Having the ability easily swap between Kailh and MX style switches by swapping the bottom “drawer” is great, but the real value will come from saving your thumbs from using the other push-down switch openers.
At the end of the day, it’s a functional desk toy that’s value is calculable by your level of enjoyment of “fidgety things.”
It is very solid and IMHO worth the price when I picked it up on sale.
If it saves my thumbs and nails, I’m all for it! Doesn’t hurt that it looks neat, too… and it’s currently on sale for $99AUD locally. I’ve only done half a set of Black Lotus lubing and the opening of the switches is really annoying - I don’t know if it’s those particular switches, but they don’t open completely and then I have to still crack them open the rest of the way with my fingers. I guess that’s whining on a very high level
Thanks for the quick answer!
My first switch with POK stems.
Jwick qingsi
Initial impression is really good. I wouldn’t say they are a perfect “stock” switch. But once I lubed them to my liking (extremely light coat of 205g0 on all the stem surfaces, a thin coating on the top housing, and donut dipped springs, they are very good. Impressively tight top housings. Wobble is good. Maybe a B+ top, A- travel, A- bottom out. Nice and snappy action from the long spring. I like them a lot more than the new Gateron UMHknowns, for sure. I also love the color. Gotta get these lubed up to try in a board!
How does it sound? I watched all the sound test videos with switching using POK material and failed to notice any distinct sound signature.
I’ll have to get them in a board before I can make a final decision on sound. I will say that might be their least impressive aspect. It’s nice but nothing distinct, as you have noticed. They might be deeper than the typical JWICK switch. Maybe not as impressive as some other recent nylon offerings
It’s really hard to tell without having them in a board. I lubed 1 and installed it in a board with some deep sounding nylon switches (emogogo linears). The qingsi is louder/clackier but possibly a tad lower in pitch.
I got one.of these from a very old r/mk secret Santa. I ended up just harvesting the MX Blacks from it. Still a very cool board though.
Nix Lilith keyboard arrived today.
Time to sample some Norwegian chocolate! Skjera bagera, Norway dudes!
Also time to finish lubing these qingsi switches. Might be a match made in heaven. We’ll see
Okay. Got enough lubed for a typing test today. They instantly reminded me of black lotus switches. So I got some black lotus out and installed them side by side. Very similar pitch. The bottom out doesn’t feel as solid and thunky as black lotus. That could be the spring, not sure.
Although the pitch is very similar, Black lotus are definitely louder with both lubed. If I give black lotus an A+ for sound, I’d give these an A-
(I’ve lubed extremely lightly on all surfaces of the stem, the rails of the top housing, and donut dipped the springs.)
I got a few things today in the mail, but I’m most impressed by these Tecsee Sunny Side Up switches.
They have the same texture on slow press that I’ve found on other switches like ultra violets, but man, they sound great. They’re also very stable throughout the key press. I’m impressed. These are on my list of switches that I could use stock. They’re a bit on the clacky side, but it’s a refined clack.
I suppose I can lube a few to experiment and report back.
They are HPE housing with a POM stem… but I’m getting classic Cherry vibes from them.
Nice finding. I’ll type on some Black Lotus to celebrate my non-purchase.
That sounds promising. Looking forward to result of your experiment.
