A classic set. It’s always nice to get an even better deal than you expected!
You know, if I were to ever sell a set it would probably be “little to no shine” as well simply because I don’t want people to expect mint condition. However, the gods have blessed me with fingers that somehow don’t shine ABS for a long time. Even with heavy use it usually takes over a year for my fingers to shine GMK caps. It’s generally the space bar that gets the most shine
I got what I consider an insane Christmas present in from a friend.
PC Bolsalice + extra PCB, Osume 3-tier Shelf, GMK Oblivion + Spacebars + Salvun Artisans, DCX Garnet, GMK Serenity (for a keyboard build for my mom), WS Aurora Pinks (also for the build for my mom), KTT Roses, Lavenders (for a build for a friend), Black Lotus, North Pole V1.
There are so many packages here. If I take pictures of everything like I usually do, it takes a lot of time and effort that I’m too lazy today)) I will update the post in the next days.
Sugar65 in gold arrived, more towards beige than gold, which is good as I like beige more. The plate is scratching the case on multiple places so I will have to do some sanding at those spots. I have yet to plug it in
The Fengqing axis has a nominal 4mm full key travel and a 2mm trigger travel. For sound consideration, the axis column is bottomed out and slightly lengthened, so the actual key travel is about 3.9mm.
The axis is made of LY material to ensure smoothness, the bottom shell is PA30 (nylon), and the upper cover is made of a new P3 material (a modified nylon material developed) to make the rebound sound of the axis smaller.
42g trigger pressure, 50g bottoming pressure, using a 22m single-stage spring, the spring support is very strong, the rebound follows the hand but does not push the hand, just the right strength. There is also the pinhole effect of the HMX shaft, which has been greatly improved by replacing new materials and slightly modifying the mold.
It is longer than 900mm)) And it’s material is jacquard. so tough. the fabric is not smooth. I didn’t know there was jacquard here. BUT this is a big plus for me.
So the MX2As are looking to just really be a mold retooling & the only truly new thing is the “barrel” spring". How’s the feel of them to you? I’ve had a few people tell me they are scratchier than hyperglides, but I find that hard to believe unless they’re still using the hyperglide molds & the spring is the only new part.
The Big Switch is 4x the size of a normal switch, and since the normal plate cutout is 14mm, the Big Switch wants a 56mm hole. Lego aficionados should know that studs are positioned on an 8mm grid, which means a Big Switch fits fairly nicely in a simple Lego enclosure with a 7x7 stud hole. (Tho it needs some adjustment so that the plate clips are not permanently compressed.)
I soldered the Big Switch to the Tiny2040, which was a bit annoying. I should have consulted Adafruit’s build guide which suggests using spade connectors. Oh well, eventually I managed to get the solder to form a connection.
I’ve seen a lot of interesting Big Switch enclosures, from cardboard to resin to wood and metal, but this is the first time I’ve seen a LEGO version. Looks great!
Big Boi mailday today, so i’m sorry for the Picture spam in advance, i still don’t know how those collapsable spoilers work here, lol.
Neo Clip-In stabilizers. Haven’t had a chance to try them out in a board yet, so can’t say much about the performance yet.
HMX Macaron 13.7mm long linear POM stems.
Outemu Hani. POM housing, Nylon Stem. Very interesting combination indeed. New molds with LED condenser and they are very stable. No housing or stem wobble and very smooth, with a slight factory lubing.
LCET x RK Beat the Sound (?) (They are basically recolors of the also new LCET pink dream sea, which are the same but with a pink bottom housing. I originally ordered those, but LCET sent the wrong switches. Before they were even announced by RK.) These are very, very interesting. They are using leaf springs as a silencing method. But not like Haimu or some other manufacturers who have one or 2 small leaf springs on the top and bottom of the stem rails. Oh no. They have 2 small extensions on either side on the top of where the stem rails would be, and 2 bigger ones on either side on the bottom. These bottom extensions interact with 2 small leaf springs that have been cut out of the bottom housing. I compared them side by side with some of my lubed Haimu Heartbeats, and these LCET are more silent. But i would not recommend opening them up. 3 out of 3 that i opened up have had some of the legs break off of the stem. I included a screencap of what the mechanism looks like.
Another Shenpo beige set with what seems to be purple legends with hiragana (i think ?) sub legends. Shipped in the biggest keycap tray they could find to make shipping as expensive as they can, it seems. goddamnit.
Mintcaps vintage beige Set with greek sub legends. Couldn’t resist as the price was quite low.
The newest version of the Aifei WoB and BoW. New molds yet again. Now 1.5mm thickness on the entire walls as opposed to their “stepped” kind of epbt-clone kind of molds. Mod Legends are still as bad as usual, but at least they are thick now.
Externally, it is difficult to find differences. Especially with hyperglide. Besides the differences, this one has a barrel-spring shape. There is also grease inside) and the bodice is different. not exactly different, but it seems different to me.
But when you press there is a difference. It also has that cherry black sound. But they seem smooth to me. I could even use them by default. without lubrication. In the middle of the ear, it is especially audible that the friction sound is weaker.
I also bought brown switches. When I bought black cherry switches. I bought it on Taobao for the 11-11 promotion. There the brown ones sold out within a day. BUT I found where to buy them and they are already on their way)
And for us, delivery is free)) If you buy shenpo on Ali.
I also bought these silent switches, they are already in my country. will soon be in my arms. There’s also a good store there that gave me a few switches for testing. as a bonus.
Price quality. Choice of colors. The plastic feels cheap. Not really bad, just cheap. They are thin thickness. The surface is slightly rough. The gaps of the keycap are even, but the edges of the casting are slightly bent. If you specially press on the very edge of the space, then they are not straight.
A very strange molding of plastic, the keycap space . This is the first time I’ve seen this. It’s still a little crooked.
The thickness is good, the surface is rough. The color is good. I like. I haven’t done any assembly with them yet. Taking photographs and processing later will take so much time)
