What did you get in the mail today? (Part 2)

Hmmm, never heard of 6064 aluminium before …
This alloy contains 0.2 to 0.4 % of lead to increase it’s machinability, and is supposed to have the same mechanical properties of 6062 aluminiun.
I guess that due to its lead content it can’t be nicely anodized.

The same page also says 6063 if you scroll down, so who knows what it really is

Im not sure why the other 6000 series aluminums are used over 6061. Considering in my experience some of the other 6000 alloys are more expensive than 6061. As for machinability usually leaded variants are mainly in steels since they have great ranges in machinability. Also, as mentioned anodizing gets wonky when you start adding things like lead, copper (think 7000 series) and other metals.

Got my Divinikey order from last week in finally! I got KKB Vibrato, the numpad kit, the extension kit, & one of those new TX switch pullers cause I’ve heard they work a little better than other ones. Vibrato slaps in person, it’s a really nice set IMO!

Boston 120% PLA kit came in today!! The case looks great, with only a couple of minor bad spots on the print. I am missing the Rainbow/Titanium screw set and will wait until I have it to start assembly. Updates to follow.

** EDIT I am not missing the screws, just forgot to order them or messed it up somehow, lol **

That internal leaf spring structure in the stems looks to be a popular feature these days - I look forward to trying it at some point.

Another decent mailday! Got a set of GMK FTRO, the Alert kit for it, & the sticker packs in from Novelkeys. Then got a PP plate for my TKL One in from Hype KB too! Planning on doing a build with it, a 1.2mm PCB, & KTT Vanilla Ice Creams. Think it’ll make for a really nice setup in the TKL One!

Edit: Whew, this set is hot! I think one of the Alert rows is a must with this set though.

I received keycaps for the PBS keycap trial

The keys are all random, but enough to cover a 7u 60%, so no 2U spacebar.

I’m still gathering my thoughts on the keycaps, but so far I have to say they are my favorite uniform keycap set I’ve used so far: There’s enough of a scoop that my fingers can’t accidentally wander away from the home row on my low-angle Gridiron, but the edges of the scoop are soft enough that sliding from one key to the next isn’t abrupt or unpleasant.

Sure, Drop. I’ll take your SA scraps for cheap!

A fun lil’ low-stakes evening project, and some stickers!

For anyone curious, the stickers are all fresh prints, including the throwback designs. The stock is a little different than older ones in some cases, pretty much in-line with the Rons. :crocodile:

Tell me they have an integrated NFC tag onto which you stored the respective keyboard’s QMK/VIA configuration?

In the same vein I ordered the SA Yuri Modifier kit for $10, slapped on the $15 Drop credits and it’s practically free hahaha

Got a few things in today! Got more resin (what else is new…) two of Wheatkeys newest sculpt the FUNction key. Got my latest Divinikey order in, which was just 2 packs of Geon’s stem spacers & 126 HMX Macchiatos. Then got my batch of Bigwigs in from Keebfront (dope packaging from them!).

Let me know what you think of the Macchiatos once you give them a test. They are the HMX switches I keep coming back too, although I have yet to pull the trigger and get some.

Will do bud! I’ll toss them in one of my HS boards either tonight or tomorrow & get a sound test up for you. Although I’d honestly say just grab them if they interest you, POK is a super interesting material with a very nice sound signature. I don’t think you can you go wrong with these in almost any build TBH! The KTT Vanilla Ice Creams are another switch that uses POK you might want to give a look also. I haven’t had either in a build yet, but am slowly lubing a batch for my ultra flex Hiney TKL One build (PP plate, 1.2mm PCB, & KTT Vanilla Ice Creams). So I’ll get a sound test for that also when I get it finished.

Got my FTRO set. I was surprised when I opened the package because the gray was warmer than I had expected. Almost looked olive to me at first.

Comparison:

Yeah the gray is pretty warm seeing it next to those other sets! Kinda crazy cause it don’t look so warm by itself! :joy: Fire set either way IMO though!
