That blue and orange one looks amazing.
I’ve never heard of Wing Tree, but it seems like unikeys used to sell them

Thanks, that’s interesting. At least there’s a little more info on them on here, although it’s UniKeys. They really are quite good and unique switches, so i’m excited for the other types that are on the way, like silent tactiles and silent linears. This is the unique bump, if you’re interested. It’s hard to describe the feel, but it’s like a rounder, smoother Type R.
that’s a sweeping bump, indeed. Very cool
Oh yeah that looks really interesting! All one long bump, hmm might have to give these a try if Unikeys restocks them.
Another non-keyboard related purchase, but got a bunch of little lights to put on our LEGO shelves. Had to order more to finish the other shelf lighting.
Did you end up grabbing these? I was curious if you planned on modding them, and if so what mods?
I figured I would want to lube and film these like I have done my other Cherry switches. Spring swap as well. I did some Browns a while back, and just lubed the back and sides of the stems, but I am not sure if that would still apply to Blues.
It’s powered by the mains, right?
Not by batteries. Right?
I wouldn’t lube click jacket switches unless you’re doing the old jailbreak mod on them. Lube will get in between the click jacket parts & cause some to stop clicking or very softly click, making a very inconsistent sounding board IME. I tried to lube MX whites way back thinking I’d be alright if just lubed the housings, over time more & more of them stopped clicking while some still clicked fine. Had to pull the whole batch & ultrasonic clean them for them to usable again.
Gotcha gotcha. Thanks for the feedback. So no lube, but spring swapping and films are probably still ok.
No prob! Yep, those are both fine, but lube will mess with the click jackets.
Rechargeable via USB-C. I didn’t want to spend much on them, and the 6 packs were like $20.
Today I got DSA white on lilac off of mechmarket for very cheap. This is my first DSA set to have trash man icons. They’re OK, but text mods would definitely be better. It won’t stay on this board, but it does match my lilac piggy60 pretty well.
That build sure is a vibe
It’s got lilac tactile switches too
That’s a perfect build.
Those Lilac tactiles were awesome.
I did in fact order them and received them. They’re quite nice stock, in my opinion, and the housing seems fairly snug so I’m not sure if you’d need to film them if that’s your goal.
However, I just do not have the patience for switch lubing/modding and avoid it at almost all costs, so I’m probably not the best judge of what mods would improve the MX2A Blues.
Sound-wise, they feel cleaner and more refined than old Cherry blues, but I need to dig up the original blues for a comparison not based on memory. I’ve been using Box Jades and Clickiez as my only clicky switches for years, so the MX2A Blue feels like a subtler option.
Clicky switches are great for those who do not like to lube and film.
I’m partial to BOX White V1 myself. I don’t know if they’re ever been surpassed, as light clickies.
Got my two sets of TypePlus stabs in from NK, love living so close to them! Shipped out yesterday, in my mailbox today! All ready for my Spooder to ship now! Heard the 2nd batch has hit the shores here in the US, so hopefully have that in the next week or two.
Got my first order in from Keybay Tech today & finally got my hands on some of those Keygeek Blue Cheese V2 switches! They also threw a sample Guns n’ Roses switch in both packs. However they sent me the wrong type of stabilizers, I ordered a set of their branded Maiz stabs with those new plastic wires & they sent me a set with metal wires. Pretty bummed out about that as I have plenty of regular Maiz stabs & only ordered this set to try out the plastic wires. Guess we’ll find out how their CS is… The Blue Cheese switches are awesome though, definitely very deep sounding, super smooth, no leaf or spring ping, & great factory lube! They might be a smidge bit deeper sounding than the Y2s, but overall they both sound very similar. The Guns n’ Roses switches are also very nice with a higher pitched sound. Might end up grabbing a batch of them too depending on how they handle the issue of sending me the wrong stabs.
