What did you order or think about ordering?

Grabbed 2 full sized packs of TP X YiKB stabs from NK since they finally restocked! That should give me 4 TKL sets with the leftover stabs I got from previous packs. Definitely happy to now have enough for my Spyder builds when I finally get that board!

I am pretty tempted to try these. Sound tests are interesting though. Not sure if I 100% like the sound… I need to listen in and take some time.

Aaaaaaand I’m in for the OGR2 (today’s the last day in case you are on the fence. Two hours. Go, now!).

65xt wkl hotswap, thank you very much. Excited to put MTNU 800 2.0 on it.

I just love what AKB has been doing with marketing. Beautiful posters for this board.

Finally pulled the trigger on a PBS keycap set. PBS MV Classic. Really really enjoy the typing experience with this profile. Looking forward to more PBS sets. Here it is on my Sat75

I hope you’ll love it. I just recently rebuilt mine (v1) and it made a world of difference with the changes I made. I originally built it with a leaf spring carbon fiber plate and plate foam. It sounded nice and deep but I hated the way it felt to type on.

I rebuilt it just recently with a PC plate (solid, no flex cuts or leaf spring cuts) and no plate foam. I put stock cherry oranges. It sounds so great and it’s a pleasure to type on.

when I was dry fit testing it (before soldering) I kept noticing a ringing pitch. Turns out it was caused (or amplified) by the plate foam. Removed the foam and it sounded so much better. First time I’ve experienced that issue

it is really quite nice. I have always disliked uniform profiles (mostly based on DSA) but found myself able to type on PBS w/o issue. Not sure what it is: “height”, “texture”, “keytop features” but it comes together really well.

Ordered 100 Gat Lanes from Prototypist. Jae is an awesome dude so I do try to support him from time to time. He also said he feels the claims that these feel similar to SKCM oranges is pretty accurate. I was dubious of that claim so he actually offered that if order them from him & I don’t think they feel similar to SKCM oranges he’d refund me for them. I told him I wouldn’t do that even if they don’t feel like ALPs to me, but did order them from him cause that was a very generous offer from him.

I figure even if the Lanes don’t have the true ALPS feel they’ll be a very nice switch. Also give me a reason to build a clicky board, which I have not done in some time! Can’t wait to see what the tarrifs I get on this are… LOL

I am eagerly awaiting your in hand review. I am pretty interested in these as well. I found one sound test on Swagkeys and it wasn’t my favorite sound wise… but that could be heavily dependent on a number of factors.

I am much more interested in a real first hand account

Will definitely let you know how they are & put up a sound test when I get them! I’m pretty excited to give these a try myself!

  1. Definitely review

  2. Let us know what kind of tariffs and brokerage fees you get hit with.

Anyone getting in on DSS Microcomputer? I have it in my cart, but I haven’t checked out yet….. DSS Microcomputer (Presale) – Signature Plastics

Because I’m also thinking about a Fossil R2……..(EDIT: adding Carolina Mech link)

I’m already in for it though I forget which all kits I got. New DSS is so rare!

I’ve spent a couple of days looking at the brass variant of the Agar Mini – KBDfans® Mechanical Keyboards Store thinking to pair it with the keycaps from (Group Buy) SA Teletype Keycaps . I think it would be a very cute little tiny combination, and my first dive into the 40% world.

I’m still not sure where to post these, but I do have an idea of what you ordered in August. Based on data provided by 18 shops and manufacturers, representing 1 million switches sold:

Couldn’t pass up the closing sale over at Prime Keyboards and picked up more TTC Bluish White Tactiles and finally grabbed DSS Honeywell at $56 (!) for the base set:

Crazy to see Honeywell so cheap. It’s one of my all time favorite sets.

I’ve thought about buying it so many times in no small part due to your praise and keyboards that were sporting it! The DSS Honeywell 40% Fix Kit GB reminded me of it and I was happy to see it on sale.

It’s crazy how dirt cheap the base set is over on PrimeKB.

I ordered quite a lot, but not what i really want. How hard is it to find a good, not overpriced, black, alu, HHKB layout 60% that works with regular 60% PCBs that’s not a Tofu? Goddamn.
But i snagged some good deals on Xianyu that i’m hyped about.

  • Black, still sealed NPKC RO75. I don’t understand how people buy something, not even unseal or unpack it, and then sell it for like way under value. But one man’s trash..
  • A Lucky65 v2 - with a twist. Someone bought 2 and mixed them together, with a black bottom and red top case. Perfect for an EVA or Akira or Gundam themed build. There are some neat Zaku keycaps with a round circle shape on them that i think would be perfect.
  • A red Pegasus 65. Haven’t heard of that board before, but it was cheap enough and it comes with a copper plate, which i have not tried before. The design on the bottom is a little… gamer’ish, but maybe the typing sound and feel will make up for that.
  • A set of Gateron x Cox GN08 silent yellows. Together with the Rantopad switches one of the first custom Gateron switches, afaik.

Now i just need to learn how to make PCBs so i can make some fun builds with some vintage switches i got. I’d love to throw some space invaders or omrons or some katanos into one of these some day.
