I just got my set on Friday, and you’re right, it looks fantastic in person. It’s far more saturated than Godspeed, and for me, that’s a great thing. The yellow follows suit and really vibrant.
all 3 of those blues look amazing to me. thanks!
Is this GMK Belafonte? My set should be here Wednesday! I also ordered the Hennessey set with the color extras. Hopefully will be able to cobble together a great looking mixed set.
Yup! It’s Belafonte. Ooh, I look forward to seeing the amalgamations of all three
Also, I kinda love the lowercase mods on Hennessey…
Your Heavy-6 build probably costed more than my board if we look at retail prices, etc. But yeah, definitely being extra careful around this one.
what floro bulb do you use that you think promotes the best growth? any propagation tips for gat yellows? how much water and how often?
That’s seriously awesome, love the switch book too, always seemed like a great coffee table book!
Right?!? This totally looks like a store I frequent.
Did a doubletake thought it was inside a yankee candle shop
Hawt!
I was clacking away on monkeytype.com, when a quote came along that I knew had to be from this book:
I remember that I’m invisible and walk softly so as not awake the sleeping ones. Sometimes it is best not to awaken them; there are few things in the world as dangerous as sleepwalkers.
I read it way back in high school, and frankly I’m sure quite a bit went over my head. Being much older and at least a little wiser, I’m glad to be reminded this was on my shelf - seems as good a time as any to re-read it.
I find stuff you read at school often doesnt get the appreciation it deserves since you dont chose it. We had one teacher that let us choose a book for extra points and I chose my first english Novel: Jane Eyre
It changed my whole time in school and University
Agreed - though I happened to have a super cool English teacher at the time and I did choose this one. I owe a good chunk of my appreciation for literature to Mr. H.
I also remember reading Jane Eyre my senior year at a different school - we did hour-long multimedia presentations on the book for our final project… I’m pretty sure that assignment was more extensive than anything I did in college - ha! In that context, I don’t think Jane Eyre got a fair shake as far as my experience is concerned - I probably would have gotten a lot more out of it had I read it for pleasure and/or curiosity. Maybe that should be next on my book list!
Yes the books in school often suffered from being a chore. At Uni we were given a reading list but had to pick our own books for it which was nice. Doesnt meanyou dont get the odd book here and there. The only time I down right did not appreciate a book was ‘Heart of Darkness’. ‘For whom the bell tolls’ was a descriptive but boring masterpiece. But that is kind of Hemingway
Ha, same!
No disrespect to Joseph Conrad and his mastery of a language he didn’t grow up with - but trying to read that thin little book was like trying to wade through chilled molasses for my late-teenage ADHD brain.
And this beauty comes out of the wood …
How is the keyboard and is the magnetic system any good ?
This friggin budget96 with GMK Belafonte.
This damn board is one of the cheapest ones I own and I put the least amount of work into it. Yet, it’s probably my favorite board I own, in terms of typing experience. This hobby is dumb.
Agree. This has happened more than once with me - build a cheap board, like it more than my expensive ones.
Sometimes it do be like that.
Were I to oversimplify my enjoyment of the keebs I have into a number out of ten, it might go something like this:
$26 stock Amazon keeb: 6/10
$500 fully rebuilt all-aluminum Filco: 6/10
$150 all-plastic hotswap keeb kit: 8/10
