Nice shot. How do you like the Kei? I am thinking about picking one up on the mechmarket.
So far, I do like the board, but currently it’s being held back by the switches I’ve selected. It definitely needs a rebuild, but overall still a nice keyboard with solid construction and engineering

I was expecting to sound hollow, but it’s not the case. Actually it’s a bit thocky.

I had been seriously considering U4 Boba or “silent” switches for the build…actually holding on to some of the first run of Boba for that purpose.
It’s a bit too tactile, though. We need Boba LT - “Light Tactile.”
But if it sounds thocky with silent switches, it may be like the NCR-80 in that regard. Could be a good candidate for Bobagum or Kailh Deep Sea or something.

I just built this Hatchet last night with Boba U4’s, a seriously awesome switch that I did not expect to love so much. Please excuse the odd color combo, I am trying to get a yolch keyset for this guy but needed something to throw on for testing purposes.

What did you build it with? I built mine with lubed and filmed black inks. It’s nice, but doesn’t have as much character as I would like. Feels a bit “dead.” I’m thinking about rebuilding with a long stem pole switch to help bring some more pop back into it.
I’m also curious to hear what Huey built his with.
I’ll go ahead and throw my build stat up too: I built mine with TTC Wilds and GMK caps on a brass plate, and it’s a delightful (aural and tactile) combination. I actually like it without the Seion sheet, but the spacebar does resonate a little without it —so I put the sheet back in.
Boba switches. They feel like a whole load of meh to me

GMK Modo 2 came in, so I made an attempt at color matching my HP 48GX calculator. (The spacebar is from a PBT clone of GMK Muted.)
