I’ve been using this for the last couple days, I’m really happy with it. Just need my forest green R3 keycaps to come.

Don’t see many 4u spacebars on a TKL. Nice case too
Thank you! I am definitely enjoying the R3 in it. I’m glad it’s 3.5u, much easier to use compared to the 91u which has such a small (2.75u I think) spacebar.
Yah, didn’t know these layouts existed!
They’re definitely fun to use!
Yup. I really appreciate the text mods paired up with those accents. It has an elegant uniformity to it. Very nice.
Northgate Omnikey 102 Gold Label, SKCM Blue Alps, doubleshot ABS keycaps. Scored it for $50 brand new in its original box, documentation and everything. Dated January 1989.
One of the best Alps keyboards I’ve ever used. Blue Alps in a tank case can never go wrong. That spacebar sounds fantastic! It can also be used without pricey special converters because of its XT/AT compatibility.
What a steal

Picked up the DCX Cyber kit / free deskmat from Drop - Deadeye has more details on the set here - What did you get in the mail today? - #7524 by Deadeye
I was hoping the purple would more closely match the Cosmic Purple of the NK87, but it makes the board look quite a bit more navy than purple.
Going to have to change the deskmat - too many conflicting shades of purple.
Also - ring the bells of shame on the wrong sized bottom row mods. I’d edit/remove but I must live with my mistakes.
I decided I needed to change up my regular rotation today and go with something that’s been sitting on a shelf unused for a while:
All I can really say about it is that this board really does belong on the shelf, lol. One of my nicest boards to look at (the case really goes well with the keyset & artisan, photo is a bit off because greens are difficult but I think you get the idea) but by far the worst to type on. Definitely something that I need to work on since it absolutely could be better, but I don’t have much motivation to go through with since I don’t really like 65% anyway and I don’t really know how much this $35 case can be improved.
Oops I was off by half a cap hah
I totally dig your tilde placement and color choice. Right on.
@YESWEKEN Is that GMK Rainy Day?
Thanks!
Yep it’s GMK rainy day. Sunlight kinda washed out the blue accent mods.
Reading through the “Easing into Linears” thread has me questioning my affinity for tactiles - I’m looking at you Cherry Blacks… - So I’m swapping between some Gazzew Boba U4 62g and some Gateron Cap Milky Yellows with the new keysets that arrived yesterday - we’ll see if linears catch my fancy or if tactiles will continue to reign supreme.
TX84v1 with NovelKeys Cherry Charcoal - they include 3 shades of contrasting caps for a limited couple keys, and spacebars - I went with the mid-shade, and pretty happy with how it looks on this board.
Had to bust into the GMK 80082 BL00 set for the NK87 - I’m a sucker for that light blue contrasting mod. Pulled the DCX Cyber off, since the purples were clashing. The dark color on the mods is intriguing me. I tried on the above TX84 - and it pulled navy out of the keycaps. I put them on the NK87, and while they’re closer to what I want on this board, it turned the keycaps back to gray. Fun one to play with though.
Put new clothes on one of the KBD67Ls;
The Silent Lemons are definitely in the light tactile category; otherwise they’re very familiar to other Outemu-made silents. That is, unfalteringly quiet and on the soft side when it comes to bottom-out feel. The bump is much smaller, shorter, and lighter than that of a Boba U4, but the dampening is identical.
The wing-latch housings are a touch loose; Deskeys films or similar work great for them if you want to minimize that play, but I’m not really feeling the need to lube these.
Cyber looks really nice here!
