What is on your desk today?

If you haven’t tried MTNU, I recommend it. MT3 used to be my favorite but now I spend the most time with MTNU; it’s really come to be a best-of-both-worlds profile for me. Pricy, but the perfect shape.

Mh thats a very good question. In terms of Choc, I think it depends. I also have a Klotz with a slight tilt, didnt really like them on there, I favor my MJF CS on there. But the Totem with MBKs is absolutely a huge letdown. Between Choc and MX I can definitely feel it, but not as much as on Choc. I guess its different enough to not make that huge of a deal. But yes, now using the KAM I miss the dish.

I did get the opportunity to “try” them out at the meetup and I was a bit disappointed tbh. Well also in a good way because now I dont want to go and spend all my money on MTNU, but I expected more of them. Would like them to have more dish. They look really great, but not having to give that much money to GMK feels a lot better also :eyes:
Maybe I would think a bit different if I really got to work with them, but nothing I am looking forward to right now. What I really want after the Meetup are DES, always thought of ordering some on JLC and now I really want to.

Running into a nice problem. I have too many boards that I really like, which makes it hard to have a daily driver.

Red Alert looking great on my TKL One! Loving the winged mods too! Also found out the Fuyu 8K hotswap PCB I got with my Frog 8K is compatible with H87 boards. Which finally let me try out some things I’ve had sitting for awhile. Threw this build together with Type Plus stabs & HMX Serene Green switches. Really liking it so far, The Type Plus stabs are really good, they just work without much fuss at all. Just give them a good coat of lube & they’re good to go, no ticking or sluggishness at all. Gotta see how well they hold up to sustained use, but just from this first use I will recommending them to beginners & people who just can’t get stabs right. Definitely very easy to tune & use compared to any other stabs I’ve used. The serene greens are also super nice switches. They are the first HMX to use POM for a housing part (the bottoms) & do have a deeper sound than most HMX. Although they are still clackier than most rail bottom out switches since they are long pole. I also tried out some Keygeek Y3s & BSUN Jade Roselles in this & both had a very deep sound signature. The only reason I didn’t roll with either of those is they need to have the factory lube cleaned up a bit as they both have a slightly sluggish feel compared to what I prefer.

Took some comparison shots of DCS lam alert beige vs white on my Phoenix for you.

As you can see, the beige is subtle. Also, the red is slightly brighter on this round than the previous.

Word, thanks for the comparison! Make me feel much better about going with red alert over lam alert. Don’t get me wrong lam alert is very nice too, but I wanted that crisp white with red look when I bought this set. Also looks great on the NCR80! I see you went with the winged mods too, something so cool about them to me LOL!

I really like the ease of use of a unibody sometimes, so I found a way to mimic the functionality of a unibody with the flexibility of a split when I want it.

I’m using an aluminum laptop bridge as the base and MagSafe stands for the split mounts.

The battery and MagSafe stands are attached to the laptop bridge with little pieces from this 3m self mating fastener strip Amazon.com

Just finished this self designed hand wire build called Blatherskite. Stacked stainless steel and copper (with forced patina).

Switched Switches on the Chiff+ (again). Came with Geon x Haimu Blacks which I basically liked, but were just too heavy. So I tried Gateron Pro Yellows for a few days now, but they always feel kind of strange. I guess the feeling is what I would consider when talking about a “slow spring”, however I can’t find anything in that term on them.

So, got a bunch of Gateron Melodic today and rebuilt. Also switched to HSA beige on brown.

I love the whole composition of this picture. Something about the tiny unibody split and the desk mat gave me the heaviest nostalgia flashback I’ve had in some time. Brought me right back to the late ‘90s and elementary school…

Thanks for the nice comments everyone. If anyone does want to make one and has any questions then just ask. Also if you want any changes to the files but aren’t confident doing them yourself then I’m happy to make them.
