Nice sleuth work.

Bet that looks great.

great work + looking forward to seeing you trailblaze with a possible wkl top.

In case anyone’s wondering you can Oring mount in a Fjell case to get rid of the damn tray mount ping. PCB rests / stops on the bump outs in the case but doesn’t cause any ping or harshness. Then again I’m using some industrial oring material–I really need to get some low durometer orings from Cannonkeys.

There were PCBs designed to more properly allow you to o-ring mount that style of case. https://www.reddit.com/r/mechmarket/comments/1buiqrd/bulk_merro60_str_nki_ppr_new_pcbs_halfnhalf_plate/

I was never aware of that project. Super cool.
I wonder if anyone would be interested in a similar sale format for my cursed layout PCBs. I always end up with some extra with the MOQ from manus and it’d make more sense to order more each time but I never do…
Thanks for the heads up!

I’ve purchased 3 of those now. Very handy for tray mount cases. The nki one is great for my wooden cases that have standoffs but no edge supports for an o-ring. It really does feel much less stiff and uniform.

Still haven’t built with the ppr version, but I have a ton of cases it will work it. Just too many things to build

3d printed another plate for the Sirius60, this time out of white PLA. Gat Smoothies and GMK Striker, put in a bit of polyfill to get rid of the weird taut resonance of the PLA plate. Bottom out on this board with the Smoothies sounds crisp like a bat striking a baseball, kind of fitting.

Then moved the Ranked POM caps that was on this build to my acrylic Tofu Redux and built that with some Bobagum silents. Going to use that as my gaming keyboard for now.

Nice lazy Sunday activity.

Are those the fully silenced bluish-whites or the half-silenced? I’ve only tried the half, and not the full.

These are the fully silenced ones. Unsurprisingly very similar, just with a dampened top out. Some of my favorite switches, even if I don’t need to be quiet.

Got some Lupines in today, changed my initial Layout Choice, also to get it built without two switches missing. Time for some real pictures the next few days.

I also wanted to color match the LEDs, so I chose cold white and recolored with Sharpies (alcohol ink just for the board was a bit much)

Acrylic Tofu had a bad hotswap socket that forced me to bend pins to make reliable connection. It went through a lot of switch swaps so I replaced the bad socket with a new one, this time from Gateron.

While at it, I replaced HMX Purple Dawn (flat, too heavy) with Emerald Cthulhu (milky top, Mekanisk Ultramarine polyamide bottom and OG NK Cream stem) with golden 58g CK Slow Spring. I made put this dreamy frankenswitch together a while back but haven’t had time to use it in daily rotation until now.

Reading your frankenswitch config felt like this LOL, https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=WNW1L3erk_k

Would love to try out some of the frankenswitches you have created though.

Finally got around to trying out some Geon Raw HE switches in my wooting board. Not sure. I think I like the bottom out sound and feel, but overall I prefer the magnetic Jades. The Raw switches sound too uneven. They make a nice thud at the bottom but then they are clacky at the top. Almost sounds like rice krispy cereal in a bowl while I’m typing from the high pitch crackles on return every now and then. Also, I think I prefer the force curve of the spring on the Jades. The Jades are lighter springs, but they somehow feel slightly heavier throughout the press, which I prefer.

I think I need some more premium HE boards for my excess switches

clear board with with white make my brain go brrr.

Or…

put the white caps on the white board? (i wonder what that looks like)

Here’s what that looked like before I switched things up. White on white on white/pom on pom on pom, except for the black PC plate which I’ve now replaced with white PLA lol. Would’ve been a truly whiteout build with the white plate.
But I quite enjoy Striker in this case better, as well as the POM caps in the Tofu, for a little more contrast.
