Desk Pads / Desk Mats

Glorious PC Gaming Race has plain blue or white pads.

There’s also the faze mousepad from steelseries that aside from their logo is just plain red, so it’s not too busy.

Other than that the only plain mousepads I can think of are all black.

I have a leather mat from amazon and love it but I’d be all over something of higher quality. I really liked those leather mats at the apple stores when the apple watch came out but they wouldn’t let me buy one.

Those mats at the Apple store were an initial inspiration to me on this project! My quest to find a qualified vendor that can do really high-end leather work and also the 3D inserts continues. I’ve made some progress but still don’t have all the details worked out.

Oh god, don’t see that threat

I have a desk mat from NovelKeys (received today) and i have a question, is it normal that it smells like hell ? It’s just no way to have that in my office. For the moment i put it outside and hopping the smell will leaving after 1 or 2 day outside.

Do you also had that kind of issue and what’s the solution ?

Except that, the quality is great, just a little bit surpise with the smell

I’ll second the recommendation for InkedGaming. I had a custom deskpad printed for the closing photo in one of my recent build logs, using an image of a white sand beach. The print clarity is quite good - you can clearly see the grains of sand above the board, and the blurred sand below the board is as it appears in the source image.

Hmm, that is kinda weird. I just got my Jamon desk pad last week & it doesn’t have a smell to it at all? Hopefully letting it air out for a day or two will kill the smell, if not I would send Mike an email about it. Oh, I believe the pads are machine washable so you could try washing it, but that will probably make it not renturnable.

When I got my nautilus deskpad it smelled like hell as well. Just rubber things…

Yeah rubber products do tend to smell a bit when brand new. I have bought other mouse/desk pads that stunk like chemicals for a day or so.

Lol yeah that’s just the new deskpad smell… Every mousepad and deskpad I’ve ever ordered has smelled like that to some varying degree.

Novelkeyz has some really awesome Deskmats. Konostore carries some cool ones too. I was really sad to see that GMK Taro did not come with one

Any links for deskmats that aren’t so huge huge? Looking for something just big enough to hold a TKL + mouse or trackball.

Also a deskmat that’s a little more firm than the usual rubber would be nice as well.

Staples would be your best bet.

I like the 700mm x 300mm size. You can find a few on novelkeys at the moment, and search for them on amazon.

but these aren’t any firmer. I think you can get some harder ones on amazon

This is a good reminder for me to double-check if that size will actually work in the space I’d want to put it (which the 900mm-wide ones won’t) and, if so, bug them about making that size available for more GB runners.

Novelkeys has a nice apple-inspired mat in stock nowadays: https://novelkeys.xyz/products/iswitch-deskpad?variant=28233847865437
