Post Your Computer

Just well-meaning folks starting to refer to me one way, then having their own “oh shit” moment and being really apologetic and trying to refer another way, all the while with me thinking “y’all I’m just trying to build you a website I really don’t care all that much”.

Yeah, same.

This is all that I’d see. lol

Covid has me a bit paranoid, thanks to all the people, that I see being irresponsible…

Well the resort is at about 10% occupancy so it’s actually pretty relaxing.

Wow, well as hard as it is to follow up that amazing setup, I thought I’d finally take a pic of my desk in my current apartment before I move this weekend.

not the cleanest, and certainly not the prettiest, but it’s served me well for the last 18 months.
Finally conceding to COVID and moving away from my college campus, getting ready for lockdown 2!

Well your doge is in the pic so that’s worth at least 100 points!

I’m not sure I’d call lockdown number 1 a lockdown, at least in the mid west. people kept going to visiting friends and family in person.

Also, I approve of the log under the Tower.

Is having a slat of wood on your desk just so you could mount that mic arm and monitor stand? :joy:

@CosmicKira ah, well I’m a Washingtonian so lockdown 1 was much more severe, no bus service for 6 months! Having a carpeted office does horrible things to your PC thermals, this Yule log actually cools things

@Manofinterests no that is the desktop  my desk is two end tables with a large plank of wood on top, :face_with_head_bandage: I’ll post a pic of my next set up once I move, hoping to have a desktop attached with screws this time

(EDIT:Grammar (every time))

Yep, took me a couple years to finally get every one in the office, to let me move their computers from the floor to the desk. lol

 How does it cool things.?

having a case with bottom intakes and short feet means one less channel for air to get into the case, and no airflow to the PSU in my case at least. just by putting it on a flat surface like the wood literally improved my temps by 10c

Ah, not as elaborate as I was expecting. I was thinking you might have snuck a small heat exchanger in there some where. lol

Ha, and I thought my ThermalTake “mid tower” was spacious.

New Sliger mini ITX cases up

I think I’m making the change to the S620 and dumping the M1. My current 240 AIO pump noise is a bit distracting so moving to the DH-15 will hopefully be a bit quieter at idle loads.

Without looking too closely, what makes these better than the M1 for you?

Mainly just the thicker size to fit the D15. My AIO pump is audible even at idle loads, so I’d like to move away from that.

I didn’t realize the pump noise would be so bothersome. Something I didn’t notice on my old build since it was kept under the desk.
