My daily driver, keydous NJ80
Bet there’s no ticking
Heavy-6 PC finally get the Novatouch treatment. MT3 Dasher is looking really dashing! Unfortunately only 1 2.25 Shift so have to use the + key as replacement. Spacebar is HKP Hot Pink that matched the original GMK Laser run.
EDIT: realised the O key was upside down and fixed it!
Ba Dum Tssssss
that looks fantastic. I wouldn’t have thought of putting Grand Tour on black, but it looks nice.
I’m digging that space bar accent
Can you show us your spacebar mod?
There is no mod involved, the spacebar is actually Topre stem
Ha. Cheats!
Got the Minibaen all built up in the Hubris case I got in the mail a couple days ago. This might be my favorite gmk set mix I’ve done yet (Godspeed base + 40s and N9 mods)!
Build deets:
- KTT strawberries, top housing lubed with 205g0
- C3 V2 stab (so much easier to get a satisfying result compared to durock imo)
- thick shelf liner under pcb
I’ve never had so premium a build and the difference in sound is kind of… life changing. lol. I think end-game ortho has been achieved. Might desolder to make the pcb hotswap, I want to try all the switches in this thing!
Warning: bit of an off-topic post here…skip if you aren’t interested in the photography aspects of this thread…
I’ll take a short stab on this one as someone who (30+ years ago, mind you) was into photography… The current situation with phones is quite simply a limitation that is being imposed by physics, which the phone manufacturers are trying to work around using software.
Consider that the optics on a phone are a mere tiny fraction of what is available in the 35mm/120mm/DSLR formats. They use different materials to get as close as possible to the same properties, but there are differences in the thickness, curvature, etc of the lenses used in a phone. It’s just simple physics.
Then consider the differences between the sensors used in a phone or a DSLR compared to the silver hallide used for film. While the pixel density of sensors has surpassed the hallide density of film, the light sensitivity properties are still likely rather different (I haven’t researched this all that much), so once again, to make up for these differences the phone and DSLR manufacturers are attempting to use software and AI to compensate.
DSLRs I think have a bit of an advantage over phones because of the physically larger space they have for the sensors, and the larger optics that can be employed. But still they aren’t perfect, this is why many photographers that use a high quality DSLR will shoot in a raw format and apply color grading to the photographs to get the color saturation and gradation that they want in the final product.
Anyway, just a little mental exercise on this topic.
Amazing board!
Thanks man! Your builds have definitely been an inspiration for my own.
I sincerely appreciate that! I do really love the 40% ortho layout of your board but with the added bonus of a full size space bar. Such a cool design!
Oh yeah, makes me wanna get Godspeed to.
wowawiwa!
Just what I’m planning on mine, but waiting on shoko R2.
Might have to build it a little earlier now after seeing this, however.
I’m shocked at how much this weighs in person, afraid the brass weight will crack the polycarb if I mishandle it.
Bueno!
Is that the Parakeet Green version? A great match for Mecha-01
Yes it is
