Very close to what I intended to build - Skidata Neo on a blue Neo80.
Really validates my interest in the set, but I skipped on it as I prefer Skidolcha type sets. Guess I could make one by combining the KKB and DCX sets!
That artisan is the most tasteful I had ever seen, was really tempted by this set.
Not that I know of. Drop tried to run a GMK retro set several years back but it didn’t hit MOQ. Many people were upset that Drop was trying to run a classic colorway in the wrong spirited profile. (Keep in mind this was still years before SP released their long awaited set shown here).
I have a sneaking suspicion that a well thought out GMK set would be much more successful in today’s market. Especially with the rise of interest in more retro aesthetics in recent years.
I’m not sure there is room for side printed legends on MTNU, but MTNU 800 would look nice on beige for sure. @Deadeye posted an amazing build of MTNU 800 on his beige class80
All in stock orders, total build turnaround of about 1.5 months from idea to finished build. Crazy how this hobby has changed and grown in the last 5 years even with a pandemic in the middle.
In honor of 40s day, here’s my first hand-wire. A Planck with an extra column, which I’m still fond of as an idea. It helps work around several layout challenges for those coming from bigger boards.
I never quite fell in love with ortho, and this board in particular is crude even by my modest standards, but the dopamine hit when I plugged it in and it 99% “just worked” was very real and created some future issues for my time, storage, and wallet.
