What did you get in the mail today? (Part 1)

I’ll keep an eye on it whenever I use the handle, though 99% of the time it’s job will be keeping dust at bay. If it came down to it, I could use padlocks to keep the case closed, lol.

Got the mother load of switches in today. A good haul from mechmarket AND the glorious pandas have appeared!

very nice haul, I love the bags vendors use for switches, so sturdy

lol. definitely better than flimsy plastic bags we used to sell software in.

Ooo - I love me a big pile of switches. So aside from the Glory Holies*, I see N1s, Koalas, Bobas, and… Oreos? I haven’t tried N1s or Oreos yet - I’d like to know your thoughts once you’ve had some time with them. Love that tan color…

*It’s terrible. I couldn’t resist. See? It’s good that they’re dropping the “holy” part…

I really hope they do another round of these so I can avoid aftermarket pricing. What a beautiful board!

Got my 63.5g progressive sprit springs (not pictured), prime E PCB, deskeys films, Glorious “Holy” Panda, and g lube (what is this stuff???) And some DSS Honeywell. I have a Prime E stacked acrylic smoked case coming from P3D store soon for a build.

awesome gift! mine is still in shipping… you like it so far?

I’ve been working on a prime_e polycarb case design recently…

It’s fantastic. 3D display is not like reality and more like MagicEye but effective nonetheless.

I just got my H88 pcb/plate in as well. I don’t have plans as ambitious as yours, but I do need to make or find a case for it.

Good eye @Deadeye almost got them all right.

In the bags I got N1s, Holy Bobas, UHMWPE Gat Ink Blacks, and NK Silk Blacks.

(Lol at Glory Holies)

I will have to ask her about them.

I got her a Leopold 900 for her pc at work. Her assistant manager kept asking what the big deal was. She came home that night telling me how she didn’t get to use the board since her assistant was on it the whole time.

Got this beauty today. This is the most excited I’ve been to get a keyboard in a long time. This is the Commodore pc-5/10 keybaord. I came across this board as I was researching the new C64 and the old Commodore 64. It was love at first sight. I love long keyboards, I love left F rows, I love long space bars and I love BAEs. I have long dreamed of building a keyboard with this exact layout so you can imagine my excitement at finding this. It’s like an F AT had a baby with an HHBK!

In the later half of the 80s Commodore realized they needed to change things up or die and so they released their version of the PC to compete with IBM as many other companies were doing. So this is obviously an AT clone, although it actually runs on XT protocol.

As far as I can tell, it is basically an early Cherry G80-3000 but sort of a custom version specifically built for commodore. It has much of the same design language as early cherry boards including PCB only mount, OG cherry keycaps and vintage MX blacks as well as similar case design (But I think this looks better).

I’ve been wanting to try a plateless design for a while as many say it makes for a more comfortable typing experience. I’ve also been looking forward to using these switches. I’ve tried MX blacks before, but never understood the hype. I’ve always found them just as trash as all other cherry switches. I do have some vintage blacks but they were quite dirty. However, as soon as I touched these, I could tell a huge difference. These are very smooth and have a lot of potential. Looking forward to lubing them.

Oh, another benefit of the plateless design is I don’t have to desolder the whole damn thing to lube it. I’ll be using a dental pick to push some dielectric grease into the stabs.

So in summary,

Edit: Holy crap, these stabs are screw in! I didn’t even know cherry made those. This board keeps getting better and better
