Gateron oil kings and 4 stage springs. Quickly tested some of the springs and they seem pretty nice. they don’t ping in stock form but they have some slight metallic sound when slowly pressing the key but that went away completely after some donut dipping.

4 sets of long springs from KPRepublic. My first time trying springs made by mStone.

List of springs with initial impression:

  • 55g 18mm spring - like 60g TX long springs (16mm) but a bit heavier at top despite being 5g lighter at the bottom. Not different enough to warrant getting this unless you need heavier top without increasing bottom-out weight.
  • 55g 20mm spring - like 55g 18mm spring but even heavier at top. again. Not different enough at this weight range although increased difference between top and bottom out weight is starting to be promising. TTC Gold Pink suggests perhaps better weight range is 40~50g bottom out weight. May order 45g or 50g next time.
  • 55g two-stage spring - top feels lighter than even 55g 18mm but bottom out weight also feels heavier and bouncy.
  • 55g three-stage spring - top feels tad too heavy. same with bottom out weight.

Initial impression: Only 55g two-stage spring felt comfortable yet distinct enough to be notable. Three-stage springs wasn’t that appealing in feel.

NOTE1: My normal weight is 63.g normal and 60g long (16mm).
NOTE2: These are initial impressions. Nothing but in-use feel matters IMO.
NOTE3: I think these non-regular springs should be selected using top weight in mind instead of bottom-out weight.

Received my leobog ash wood today. Interesting switches by an interesting manufacturer. They are a little inconsistent, sadly, with some being a little more scratchy and pingy than others. but really nice if you catch a good one, and even nicer once you throw a little lube at them. The stems are one of the most interesting parts, imo. Not only are they long pole stems, but the crucifix is also around 0.5mm longer, if not more. quick test and there’s less interference in north facing config. that could be nice.

DSS Late Harvest just came in and I figured that I would mount the set while I checked that all the caps were there.

@NoPunIn10Did did a great job! I just wish that more people bought the Thock acorn artisan so it hit MOQ – would do terrible things for a proto or one-off if that exists.

I’m also glad you that he chose the bar homing keys over the nippled version as I’m a bit forced to use them. Normally I love deep-dished homing keys on spherical caps (DSA in particular), but while the dish is nice on the DSS homing keys, the scuplted nature of the profile creates uncomfortable points on the bottom of the cap that my fat fingers tend to rest on.

NextTime75 I ordered for my little brother came in a few weeks early! Kailh box navies like he wanted. 9009 clones like I can afford. He doesn’t deserve this, he’s been a little ass recently lol

Edit: Still searching for the space bar

Those clones look really good, I think you confused Shift and Caps Lock though.

Good looking out! :+1:t4:

BSUN black. sadly a different mold revision than what i wanted. The older revision had the same molds as old Feker switches which is why i wanted those. But the new revision and new molds here are pretty bad. Scratchy, wobble, pingy, pretty useless except maybe for frankenswitch parts.

Always sad to hear when a switch revision gets worse

Could you recommend some flatter boards to try with DSS?

Late Harvest is arriving soon, and I had kind of envisioned it on IKKI68 Aurora, or even a Filco.

Or an HMKB, which is adjustable. I don’t think I’ll like DSS profile, but I’m willing to give it a try.

EDIT: Late Harvest is as beautiful on your board as I envisioned. My HMKB will also be dark gray.

I got a shipment of 6 IBM and Toshiba Model M8 point-of-sale buckling sleeve keyboards! Seems they were former ASDA (supermarket chain here in the UK) gear.
