With an actual dial tone! Nice.

Today is my freshly rebuilt MK I Norbaforce with an 87u. Built with BKE Heavy domes, purple sliders, silenced, brass plate, and Topre corp keycaps.

Trying JWICK Nylon T1s today. Big, snappy clacks - and on a budget.

For comparison, Durock’s classic T1 has a translucent Nylon bottom and a polycarb top, and go for about 55 cents each. These house brand ones are all black Nylon, and I’ve seen them as low as 24 cents each, usually closer to 30 cents.

That’s about half the price either way, and one thing I can tell you off the bat is that these are much more than half of a classic T1. They aren’t the best T1 variant, but they may well be the vest value T1 variant.

MBK Legends finally showed up. This keyset really makes the Technik board so much better!

Neat board and caps.

Also, those are the longest cable coils I’ve seen since the old wall-mount, stretchy phone cords! Clever routing on the mouse cord too.

I got a bag full of JWICK Nylon T1s just yesterday as well.
I am surprised how good they are (at least in my eyes, or for my fingers), compared to other more expensive switches.

I only bought them for their black housing, knowing that the leaf works for a T1 stem.
They board I am currently building will show at least part of the switch housings, and I plan to use T1 Shrimps in the board.
The turquoise housing of the Shrimps would not the fit the colorway of the board, so I thought I’d transfer the silent T1 stem and the spring from the Shrimps into the JWICK Nylon T1s.

Actually I think the Shrimp stem and spring in the JWICK T1 housing makes a slightly better Shrimp. It feels a little smoother than the unmodified Shrimp.

KBD67 Lite with PC plate, lubed Durock POMs (“Piano”) and stock CJs in num row (to test) and Kinetic Labs/Polycaps Corn.

Finding I’ve gotten used to 60% enough now where 65% feels odd, but variety is nice.

This board looks awesome, especially with those extra long coils! Definitely looking into it!

Interesting. Now how does that JWICK T1 stem feel in the Shrimp housing

I just tried.

The JWICK T1 stem in the Shrimp housing feels the same tactility-wise as the unmodified JWICK T1. No surprise there.

But it’s a little more scratchy.

My guess is that the Shrimp housing simply feels more scratchy than the JWICK nylon housing, since the Shrimp stem feels smoother in the JWICK housing as well.

But with a lille lubing und usage I believe the JWICK stem in the Shrimp housing would be really nice.
The combination definetly looks good color-wise…
