Honestly, this has been on my desk longer than most other keyboards I’ve owned. I’ve been rotating keycap sets about every other day.

I feel like I missed something about the current trend. Suddenly seeing an influx of wooden keyboards again.
How are you liking the wood in terms of finish and feel? (how) Does it affect the sound?
Its really only an accent piece that attaches to the top aluminum section, so it doesn’t really change the sound. I’m all for wood. Real or faux, as long as it’s designed in a way that it won’t warp over time.
Every time I see the word “Wooden”, half the time I think the message is referring to me because I am so used to it by now LOL.
I can’t blame you for rocking the Encore longer than you normally do with a new board. I finally got to try one at the NK meetup & man is it a nice board all around! Not only does it look good, it also sounds & feels good!
I saw your Instagram post earlier today and the build specs. I was wondering how you liked the TypePlus stabs now that you’ve used them a bit? Have you had to retouch them at all? How are they working compared to the mountain of other brands stabs that you’ve tried or used in boards?
They are great in this board. The space bar is actually magical on this one. But… I tuned another set for a build recently and ended up swapping them for TX-AP because they won in a side-by-side comparison. For the way they feel, TypePlus is better. They are just completely unnoticeable, like there is no stabilizer. But for sound/ticking I still don’t think they’ve solved the issue completely. On this board, with the switches being so amazingly marbly sounding and thocky, it probably covers up the sound of the stabilizer a bit.
Thanks for the impressions! What did you use to lube the TypePlus’s (the wire more specifically).
I used a light coating of Nyogel on the wires.
Just wrapped up my Tinyneko build with some Baby Kangaroos and Pixel–and my mill maxed custom PCB of course.
The copper neko is so cute damn it.
Love the case in combination with that wrist wrest. Is that printed?
Thanks!
I was just thinking Pono would be awesome, but I don’t have that and the kitting’s pretty weak in that set.
Yep, and you can grab it here too 60% Wrist Rest v2 by skwrl - Thingiverse
Will any of the PCB fabricators do your mill max for you? I’m rather distrustful of “standard” hot swap sockets, but soldering mill max sockets feels like a bit of a beat down.
That’s a good question and I never even thought of it. I wonder if they did if it’d be a better price than DIYing. I bought a bag of 1000 sockets and I went through that like butter, even with 0 muck ups.
I order from JLCPCB but my most recent batch had some color issues and they’re being a bit difficult, and depending on how they resolve this I might have to find a different manu.
Anyways to those of you who are still on the fence about MTNU I would advise you to give it shot, it has really surprised me thus far!
d00d…that’s true keeb porn right there.
You’re making me blush… Seriously though thanks man! It is one of my more sentimental favorite boards & I got it built just right for me too!
Who’s the maker of that board? Model?
It’s from Hineybush, and the board is called “TKL One”
Yep @Wooden-Toilet got it right. He has some PC TKL Ones still available on his site. Also he might have aluminium ones still at his shop that are not listed on his site. If you’d be interested in a alum one I could ask him for you. tkl one - poly extras – hineybush keyboards
