Built it last night but got it working tonight. It definitely could use paddings to cut down on reverb. Noticed MKUltra has split board plate padding so there is some hope they may offer one for Lily58 eventually.
Brought my pingmaster to work today! I really need to figure out how to take apart the relegendable keycaps and reflash the firmware (the guy who sold it to me had already put in a controller but the layout is pretty weird)
Keyboard is breathtaking. May I ask where you got your Topre keycaps from? I’d love to purchase some. Reminds me of two of my favorite video games (Bioshock and Fallout 4)
Hey. Thanks.
These are actual MX keycaps. The set is made by GMK and is called Nautilus.
I am able to use them on this board because I changed the stock Topre sliders with Novatouch sliders.
Drop me a PM if you need more details. I would gladly walk you through the entire process.
Prototype of my AG-1000, all-gasket keyboard case, with:
KBDfans blank POM keyset
Holy Panda lubed with 205g0
Poker steel plate
MKUltra plate padding
DZ60
It’s removes 99% of reverbs and noises leaving nothing but sound of keycap, switch, and plate in their purest form. It can also be placed inside a roomy Tupperware case for those who enjoy that quality plasticky reverb like HHKB.
Humor aside, this really feels and sounds pretty good. I think a Tofu like case made out of high-density foam with some kind of mechanism to hold the plate down may sound and feel really good while being dirt cheap.
You mind if I PM you on Discord about Pingmaster conversions as well? I got one that I unsuccessfully tried to convert with a pro micro & could use some advice on the process. It probably won’t be soon, but it would be awesome to have someone to turn to for advice when I go to do it.
Pingmaster keycap profiles look very similar to Topre Hi-Pro. If it’s as comfortable to use, I’d love to see them return, preferably about 30% shorter.
