What's on your workbench today?

Very cool indeed. Seriously tempted to grab an HHKB-blocked purple one.

I find for gaming I like the space “zone” to extend out to ‘C’ or so, but I can very much appreciate breaking up a 6.25u spacebar which probably has the worst sound of any key on the average board anyway.

I have an idea for my next build, but I’m finally seriously considering going from a hand-wire to designing a PCB, at least a simple thing with through-holes and traces that terminate at a garden variety MCU dev board like the Pi Pico clones I usually use.

Haha do ittttt.
I just bought a 2 more sets of rejected tops and bottoms including one hhkb top at the insanely discounted price. Figure it’s a great way to have a couple extra keyboards for fun, or maybe I can gift one of my friends or something who knows.

Awesome work with the printing! A great snag for the price as well.

I picked up a B-stock Atomic Purple HHKB Sinne the other day alongside a rejected Smoked HHKB top for funsies. I like the way the brass plate looks, but I’ll probably have a plastic plate cut for sound and feel. I usually go with GreenDoorGeeks for his black POM plates, but I’ll have to see if he has any material that can replicate the look of the smoked PC plates you could once purchase from Viktus. I should have the board in hand in a few days to confirm the need for a swap.

Ah, so this must be what people mean when they talk about attaching an external weight

Nice custom weights. Heaviest builds I’ve seen.

Thanks!
Yeah I like how brass plates look and the added weight but not a fan of the stiffness and sound, personally. Been really enjoying my PC plates. I have some black Acetal/POM I want to make some plates out of too.
Actually if you end up needing a custom black POM or PC plate (with no logos lol) feel free to DM me I’ll give you a fair price :stuck_out_tongue:

Wow, how much kg is one such dumb bell (I learned a new word)?

Also nice to see you use a different colour of keycap than your usual red.

Found the amazing Cornehole case and really really wanted one myself. Sadly, the original design is for wireless only. So I edited the STEP files to also fit a wired version with TRRS. Really satisfied how this turned out. Now I just have to de-solder the other half…

I put together a hefty tofu redux. It’s got a solid brass plate and some akko cream blues. Typing is loud and striking, very solid. Zero bounce. No give. Super stiff. lol Fun though.

That’s the Busy Town deskmat. Sold out at all vendors, sadly :frowning:

@skwrl There’s a new run of Busytown coming. I think there’s going to be smaller sized versions as well; along with being offered in grey scale and sepia tone.

It’s a bold move, we’ll have to see how that works out for them.
