What did you get in the mail today? (Part 1)

Interesting! I’ve been slacking, need to get back into the frankenswitching game with these!

There are a ton left over so don’t feel bad about picking them up. Plus, the replacement period started a year ago so everyone should already have what they need.

Otc modo light

Very impressed overall. Some minor alignment issues on num row. Honestly in real life not that bad / noticeable. Feel great sound slighy deeper than GMK. Unboxing experience was top notch trays easy to use not flimsy. I look forward future sets!

A set of JTK Grissean arrived, really like how it looks on the TMO.

Nice! The TMO is loooong.

Got a sample of 2 linear one eyed space-invaders. Stickslip is pretty brutal on slow presses, but it’s a lot better with some lube. can’t wait to build a full board with those, but maybe with a different type.

KTT Strawberry. I was expecting it to sound like Oil King but turned out to be clacky, long-pole sound but not as clacky as NK Cream. Very smooth. Stock sounds rattly so this is a must-lube switch.

FIRST IMPRESSION: Liking it. If you like long-pole sound but not the shortened travel like me, this is a switch you’ll like.

S60 in blue with fr4 plate arrived today! Excited to build this board and see how an fr4 plate feels with topre.

I was curious to hear your thoughts! They’re my favorite linear next to mx blacks, for when I want a different sound profile.

Many folks have said they don’t need modding, which I suppose is true if a person only cares how smooth a switch feels, but I also lubed/filmed to tame the sound. Very pleasant.

Just tested a KTT Strawberry switch in several boards and found that it’s a robust switch like Cherry Black and NK Cream, sounding great in every board I tried. It’s poppy like NK Cream and solid like Cherry Black. Don’t understand how they pulled this off with full PC housing.

Spring is decent too. Not long but not flat either.

You said it! The tone changes in good/interesting ways depending on keycap material/profile.

Little mouse upgrade here. I still have the Master Gen1 but the Limit to 1600 or 1800 DPI really hits when you use multiple screens/WQHD/Ultrawide. And since Im starting to get more RSI issues after using the G305 a lot more, the switch was clear.

Its crazy how good that mag wheel feels compared ot the old mechanic mecahnism of the Gen1

Just 30 mins after posting also some keeb stuff arrived. Made from the guy that modified the dumbpad to RGB and hotswap. I did had a few fitment issues on the case but that got fixed easy

Doom Tactile switches from Keebfront arrived in a custom switch container. They have a really smooth yet strong tactility with an upstroke that feels a bit stronger than the downstroke. I think that punchy upstroke is causing a good bit of pinging, so going to try to lube these and see how it goes.

The springs I ordered from 3D Keeb’s close out sale arrived along with a small batch of Boba U4T 68g pearl top switches I ordered from Ringer Keys before their U4T inventory was depleted.

Man, they nailed the Dr. Doom colors!

Vintage doubleshot and, to my knowledge, even unused cyrillic keycaps. They are fairly thin and remind me of tai-hao or DCS in terms of thickness. Sublegends are pad printed, sadly. that makes me too nervous to put them on a build because i don’t want to wear them off.

Gray Space Cadet set Rev3 from 21kb. Other than left-shift and return keys being a bit warped, gray is I think the classiest sub-legend color for PBT Space Cadet.

Had to get a different kit of RAM since my old RAM (G.Skill Ripjaws V 3200MHz) absolutely would not play nice with my 5800X. Any attempt to get it to run above 2133MHz would lead to boot loops. I had heard Ryzen is finicky with RAM so the fact that my Ripjaw sticks were 2 different 2x8GB sets with the same specs must the issue. Although the only 2 differences between those sets of Ripjaws was the color of the heat spreaders (one kit was black & one kit was red) & a single tertiary timing was off by 1 value (one kit had that timing set at 10 & the other had it set at 9). It ran fine together even OCed beyond 3200Mhz on my old Intel setup so Ryzen must really be that senstive to the RAM used with it.

I also got my set of GMK Dandy in too! @Sour hit another homerun with this set! Will post pics of it on a board soon.

Domikey Single Chip

Bought for Alice.

Good quality. Strong body. minimal spring chime. No grease but smooth. Friction is and is the sound of friction, but the movement is smooth, so to speak.
I like the sound of silver. Unusual.
By color, these switches are like noctua))))) :smirk:

I thought gmk spacebar warp was bad… looks like someone took a hairdryer to it.
